Knowing Life Through Jesus

Matthew 28:1-15; John 20:30-31. Today we come to the most important miracle (Rom 1:1-4). Never had anyone witnessed a dead person coming back to life – by His own power (cf. Heb 11:35). But the disciples should have expected it (Mark 8:31).

I. BELIEVING HISTORICAL WITNESSES

A. Women (Matt 27:61: 28:1; cf. Acts 10:40-41)
B. Peter, John (John 20:3-8)
C. Thomas (John 20:25-28)
D. Paul’s list (1 Cor 15:3-8)
E. Soldiers (Matt 28:11-15)
1. He is alive! Claims proven (Matt 16:16-20; Matt 20:28; John 10:10; 14:6)

II. BELIEVING CURRENT FACTS

A. Jesus raised to prove divinity (Rom 1:4-5)
B. Jesus raised to receive dominion/kingdom (Dan 7:13-14; Acts 2:36-41)
C. Jesus raised to God’s right hand (Mark 16:19; Acts 2:33-35)
D. Jesus raised for our justification (Rom 4:25; Col 2:11-13; 1 Pet 3:18-22)
E. Jesus raised for our intercession (Heb 7:24-25)
1. To believe it, is to speak it (2 Cor 4:13-14)

III. BELIEVING FUTURE FACTS

A. He will return (1 Cor 11:26)
B. He will raise the dead (1 Cor 15:20; John 5:28-29)
C. He will judge the living and dead (John 12:48; Matt 25:31-46; 2 Cor 5:10; 2 Tim 4:1)
D. He will transform the believer’s body (Phil 3:21; 1 John 3:2)
E. He will give the believer eternal life (John 11:25-26)
1. Life — is living in God’s presence!

After you have come to know all there is to know about the Christ,
can you truly just walk away from Him?
